Samuel Pickens (son of John Pickens and Letitia Hannah) was born August 12, 1799 in Nails Creek, Tenn, and died January 06, 1862 in Tuscaloosa, Ala. He married (1) Jane M. W. Cowan, daughter of Christopher Columbus Cowan and Unknown Boyd. He married (2) Jane M. W. Cowan on Abt. 1822.
