Samuel Lyle's Will
I Samuel Lyle of the County of Highland in the State of Ohio do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say.
First it is my will that all my Just and lawful debts he enters said.
Second I give and devise to Finley Lyle my oldest son ten dollars in property ~
I give and devise to my second son William Lyle ten dollars in property ~
I give devise and bequeath to my three daughters Sally Lyle, Nancy Lyle and Jane Lyle, one hundred and three acres of land be the same more or less Lying on the waters of Brush Creek entered in the name of James F. Lick? Joining the land of Finlay Lyle I shard & Wm. Lyle to them and their heirs aforesaid to be equally divided between them ~
I give devise and bequeath to my youngest Son Samuel Lyle one hundred and ninety four, and one half acres more or less lying on the waters of the Ricks for R. of Paint Creek entered in the name of J. Moyland Joining the land of Andrew R. Keys and Beaty Carlisle to him and his heirs forever.
It is my will that the above mentioned Samuel Lyle furnish his sister Nancy Lyle a horse or mane worth forty five dollars a good suit of clothes and a Beaunnau? & side saddle.
It is my will that the above mentioned Samuel Lyle furnish his sister Jane Lyle a horse or mane worth forty dollars a good suit of clothes and a Bureau, and side saddle ~ It is my Will that the above named Samuel Lyle pay all the lawful debts This being my last will ~
In Testimony I have hereunto set my hand this twenty fourth of May 1836.

Highland Com. Pleas March Term 1842.
This day the last will & Testament of Samuel Lyle Sn. was presented in open Court and at the same time personaly Andrew R. Keys and William Lyle attesting witnesses thereto and after being duly sworn say that the said Samuel Lyle Sr. being over the age of 21 years of sound mind and disposing memory voluntarily subscribed said will and Testament and published and declared it to be his last will and Testament in their presence and hearing and that they at hsi request and in his presence.
Signed and subscribed the same as attesting witnesses
