Samuel Laird, born in 1764 in Augusta Co., VA., moved to Kentucky in 1802, and married susannah Gilmore on 17 May 1806, and they settled in Cumberland Co., KY., where they had 2 sons and 1 daughter by 1810, and they moved to Fayette Co., KY. She died, and he remarried to Mrs. Catherine Logan on 16 Jan. 1856, aged 92 years. His will was proved there on 21 May 1856. Since he names none of his own children in his will, I assume they had all died young, and he had no children or grandchildren when he died.
