Samuel King lived in Kentucky, but was required to to at Saltville or Abingdon on January 1 of each year to receive his annuity from his brother William's will. He was at Abingdon on this purpose January 1812. In February or early part of March he started his return to Kentucky. He stopped for the night at a house about 60 miles from Abingdon and was never afterwards seen.
