Later engaged in flat-boating produce, corn, apples, flour, port, meal, etc down the Ohio & Mississippi Rivers to New Orleans, making his way back home on foot & horseback. On last trip was killed some place along the route, supposedly in the Indian Nation, for his money, this being in 1839. His wife Sarah, died abt. 1860, & is buried in the hill or knob in Harrison Co, overlooking the Ohio River, opposite the end of Greenwood Rd. in Kentucky.
