    The will of Samuel Griffith of Calvert County, Maryland was written by Henry Johnson, Samuel apparently being quite ill.
    Provisions of the will:
    To daughters Martha Evans, Elizabeth Miles, Mary Bowers, Sarah Duvall, Rebecca Mobile [sic], Rachel Giles -- 10 shillings each
    To grandchildren Elizabeth Evans, Mary Bowers, Elizabeth Griffith, Rachel Giles -- a cow and calf each
    To son Samuel, dwelling plantation and other lands
    To wife Eliabeth and son Samuel, executors, the residue of estate.
    Entered into probate 3 Sept 1717, Calvert County, Maryland

    On 21 Nov 1717, the will was contested by son-in-law John Giles, on grounds that it was dictated by Samuel's wife Elizabeth to override Samuel's previous will, to the detriment of childen other than Samuel.
