Gray, Samuel, b. 1/2/1761; entered service 1777 Virginia; Pensioned 1818 Hopkins County, Kentucky; resided there in 1821 when he had wife & children Sally, Revecca, Powatan, Thomas & Hannah resided with him; died 5/29/1832; married 9/26/1792 Leah Lisk (Note: s/b Sisk), Wilkes County, North Carolina, who was born 9/17/1770; widow Pensioned 1843 in Hopkins County, Kentucky when Hannah Clark filed affidavit there; children's births: Hiram 6/16/1794, Gillson 2/22/1796, Martha 11/25/1797, Sarah 8/21/1798, Nancy 9/15/1803, Rebecca 3/11/1808, Powatan 9/07, Thomas 5/17/1810, Hannah 4/26/1814, Andrew 9/12/1816 & Leah 11/25/1819; affidavit 1843 by widow's brother Andrew Lisk (Note: s/b Sisk) that his sister & soldier lived in Wilkes County, North Carolina, with his father Thomas Lisk (Note: s/b Sisk) after marriage.
