person:Samuel Cowan (26) may be a brother of Person:William Cowan (43). The evidence is purely circumstantial a) They were born about the same time (1801-1805), b) they are buried in the same cemetery. The parents of neither Samuel nor William are known. Since Williams POB is unknown, but Samuel's is (supposedly), perhaps looking for both in Bledsoe County would be helpful.

Some data: Samuel C. Cowan was born on 20 Feb 1805 in, Bledsoe, Tennessee. He died on 12 Dec 1885 in Whitwell, Marion, Tennessee. He was buried in Red Hill Cemetery, Whitwell, Marion, Tennessee. Samuel married Sarah Howard in Abt 1824 in , Bledsoe, Tennessee.

Sarah Howard was born on 28 Feb 1806 in, Bledsoe, Tennessee. She died on 14 Jan 1875 in Whitwell, Marion, Tennessee. Sarah married Samuel C. Cowan in Abt 1824 in , Bledsoe, Tennessee.

They had the following children.

Sarah Marilda Cowan was born in Abt 1850. She died in Abt 1890.

William (43) named a child "Samuel C." Presumably Samuel (26) was his namesake, which would reinforced the idea that William (43) and Samuel (26) were brothers. Alternatively, its possible that there's a significant confusion in these lineages and that Samuel (26) is actually the son of William (43) not his brother.
