↑Source:Pope, Charles Henry. Cheney Genealogy, p. 268, incorrectly gives Samuel's birth as 17 Sep 1797. The town records of Orange clearly say 1799, and many census record calculate to a birth about 1800. Further, despite the Find A Grave memorial page repeating this error, calculating his age as 81, the very gravestone pictured there gives his age as 79 when he died in 1879.
