In 1713 and 1715, Samuel Chapman Junior of New London, son of Samuel, brother of Joseph, purchased land tracts in Colchester. The deeds for these two purchases were witnessed by William Chapman and John Chapman, respectively. These same tracts of land were later sold in 1718 and 1720. In both the deeds of purchase and sale, Samuel Chapman Junior is described as being "Of New London" indicating that he may not have ever lived in Colchester. References
