Facts and Events
Name Samuel Byers
Gender Male
Birth[1][2] 1762 York County or Cumberland Co., Pennsylvania

Death[3] 16 Dec 1839 Lawrence County PA

1790 Census of Pennsylvania show a Samuel Byers with a household including 1 free man over the age of 16; 2 males under the age of 16; and three females. If this is the same Samuel, he would have been about 30 years old at the time of the census. According to the History of Lawrence County, Samuel Byers served as an officer in a militia company called the “Shenango Marksmen” which had been organized after the War of 1812. So did Ebenezer Byers. A History of the Neshannock Presbyterian Church mentions that “Samuel Byers came in April of 1798 to Hopewell, Neshannock.”
