"29-3. Dea. Samuel2 Brocklebank (Capt. Samuel, Widow Jane), born 28 : 9 mo. 1653 [November 28, 1653]; married 22 Nov., 1681, Elizabeth, daughter of Samuel Platts. He, with his wife and others, was dismissed, 13 Oct., 1706, from Rowley Church, 'In ordr to their Imbodying in ch. order by yms at Rowlbery alias Byfield' (Ch. R.). He was deacon of the church in Byfield Parish, 1714 (Essex Deeds, 37:177). In a deed, dated 7 Apr., 1714, he conveys land to his son John, who must pay £60 'to my three grandchildren when yy come to age or marriage'; viz., Sarah Brocklebank, Mary Brocklebank, and Martha Brocklebank, each £20 (Essex Deeds, 37:177). In a deed, dated 18 Feb., 1719-20, he conveys land to his son Francis, who must pay a stated sum to daughters Elizabeth Pingry and and Hannah Mary and Martha Brocklebank. Son Francis is to live with his parents and care for them. Son John Brocklebank is mentioned. His wife, Elizabeth, signs the deed (Essex Deeds, 44:73). His home was in Rowley, Second Parish, now Georgetown, and his descendants now (1932) reside there."
