    A transcription of his will:

    In the Name of God Amen I Samuel Brees of Carnedd in the Parish of Llandinnam County of Montgomery and Diocese of Bangor yeoman being very sick and weak of body but of perfect Mind and Memory Thanks be given unto God Calling to mind the Mortality of my Body and knowing that it is apointed for all men once to Die do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament that is to say principally and First of all I Give and Recommend by Soul into the Hand of Almighty God that gave it and my Body I Commend to be buried in dececent Christian Manner at the Discretion of my Executors not doubting but at the general Resurection I shall receive the Same again by the mighty [...] of God and as touching such worldly Estate [wher...] It has pleased God to bless me in this Life I give and dispose of the same in the following Manner & [F...] First I give and bequeath to Ann my well beloved [W...] the one Third part of all and singular my Ready [...] Bills Bonds Houshold goods, sheep cattels & chattels effects of what kind soever.
    I give and bequeath to my Son Samuel Brees the [...] of Ten Shillings and Sixpence. I Also give and bequeath to my Son Nathaniel Brees the Like Sum of Ten Shillings and Sixpence. I Also Give and bequeath to my son in Law Richard Stephens and my Daughter Elizabeth the Like Sum of Ten Shillings and Sixpence. All the rest and Residue of my Ready Money Goods Cattels and Chattels Impliments of Husbandry and whatsoever Else I have or may have Title too I freely Give and bequeath to be Equally and Justly Divided between my Two Sons Thomas Brees and John Brees whom I Likewise Constitute make and ordain full and Sole Executors Jointly of this my Last Will and Testament and I do hereby utterly [disa...] Revoke and make void all and every other former Testaments Wills and Bequests [w...soever] by me in any ways before Named willed and bequeathed Ratifying and Confirming this and no other to be my Last Will and Testament in wittness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal this fifteenth day of January in the year of our Lord one Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy Two
