    Samuel Bonnett was born about 1739 and is the son of Jean Bonnett and Anne Marie Desreaux. He died from a falling tree in 1789.

    Samuel had bought 205 acres of land in 1766 in Hampshire County, Virginia, (now West Virginia). After his parents died, he sold and moved his family to Monongalia County, Virginia (now West Virginia). He settled on the waters of Hacker's Creek later being of Harrison County as the Counties changed. In 1777 Samuel leased the land to David Myles. In 1784, Samuel is listed in Hampshire County, 400 acres in Monogalia County (later became Harrison County, West Virginia). He bought 400 acres in 1786.
