    p25,26,177.

Samuel John Austin was a Loyalist from Virginia, the only (two were) Loyalist of seven brothers. He was enrolled for the journey in Richard Squires' Militia company (Bell, p26) and travelled on the 'Grace, unit 34' to Saint John, NB with the July 1783 Fleet(Bell, p25). The sailing and victualling records state that his household numbered two persons, an adult male and an adult female( Bell, p177). It is natural to assume that the 'adult female' was Samuel J. Austin's wife and since no children were recorded, that they had not been married long. This must have been a different wife than Eve Gabel/Goebel that he married Nov 23, 1788 at Gagetown, NB.
