SAM BLACK was born after 1901 at Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland. He married NELL [BLACK]. They had at least two children, a daughter Evelyn and son William.

The Charles Black Family History states that Nell died on May 22, 1972.

The William (Bill) Black Interview has two quotes on Sam's family.

  1. Cousin Evelyn (Sam's daughter) was a real knockout. Between Mick and Bill she took them all over Glasgow to meet the younger generation.
  2. Cousin Bill (son of Sam) married a Catholic girl and nobody in the family including his mother and father went to the wedding.

Sam was not listed in the 1901 census for his family so he is listed as being born after 1901. I look forward to the release of the 1911 UK census for further confirmation on him from a primary source.
