Sally Ann Chabucos, 70, died April 23 at her home in Annapolis. She had multiple myeloma, a rare blood cancer. Mrs. Chabucos was born Sept. 22, 1932, in DeKalb, Ill., the daughter of Herbert and Agnes Colwill. She graduated from the University of Colorado and taught school, both public and private, in Delaware and Illinois. She married Peter James Chabucos on Oct. 25, 1952. She volunteered as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for the juvenile court while living in Ohio and as a docent at the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center in Maryland prior to her illness. She was a sustaining member of the Junior League of Annapolis and a member of St. Anne's Episcopal Church. Her interests included gardening, reading and sailing. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons, Jay Herbert Chabucos of Cave Creek, Ariz., and Tod Peter Chabucos of Columbus, Ohio; and two brothers, Herbert Colwill of Bloomington, Minn., and John Colwill of Glen Allen, Va. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. today at St. Anne's Episcopal Church, Church Circle. Memorial contributions may be made to Johns Hopkins Medicine for Multiple Myeloma Research, 401 N. Broadway, Suite 110, Baltimore, MD 21231, and Hospice of the Chesapeake, 8424 Veterans Highway, Millersville, MD 21108.
