Facts and Events
Sadie's husband went to the bar to be with his Irish drinking buddies. Sadie was cleaning around a wood stove and set down a can of cleaning fluid on the wood resovoir attached to the stove. Two children were outside playing and the third wanted to go out. As the door was pulled open, one of the children came in at the same time. The door opened with such a force that it hit the stove resovoir and knocked the cleaning fluid over, which started on fire. Sadie tried to put the fire out and suffered severe burns as a result. She died shortly after that because of the burns. Her children were raised by another relative as the father was unable (or perhaps unwilling) to after that incident.
