Ruth Ellen Waggoner Mitchell, 84, of Winter Haven, Fla., died of heart failure Sunday at the Life Care Center of Winter Haven while under hospice care.

She was a Fremont native who graduated from Fremont Ross High School in 1937. Before retiring, she worked as a self-employed accountant in Springfield.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Logan and Lucille Pump Waggoner; brother, Donald; husband, Robert E.; and two sons, Robert E. Jr. and Logan.

Her sons, Edwin of Fremont, Alton of Commerce Lake, Mich., and Russell of Springfield; and sister, Kate Northrop of London, survive her.
