    "… Ruth daughter of John Steele and Ruth Judd, who died before 20 [29] May 1751 when an inventory was taken of her estate. … The will of Ruth Thompson was dated 29 April 1751 and names nephew Samuel Steel the son of Ruth's deceased brother John Steel; daughter-in-law [stepdaughter] Hannah Bird; Mabel the daughter of son-in-law [stepson] Hezekiah Thompson, Nathaniel, John, James, Solomon, and Zekiel, Hezekiah, Margaret Beach, Eunice the wife of John Judd, and Hannah Bird, all children of her deceased husband John Thompson; and the remainder to be equally divided among Mary the wife of Capt. Joseph Hart, and Ruth the wife of Lt. John Patterson. The inventory of her estate was taken on 29 May 1751 and came to £268:10:10 [Hartford Probate District, Connecticut Estate Files, docket no. 5436; also abstracted in Nutmegger 35:208)."
