    Ruth Mildred Schier Fuchs (10/20/1920 to 07/1997). Ruth married Raymond J Fuchs Sr (03/03/1921 to 03/24/2001) on 05/03/1921. They lived in Thrall and were owners of the Hiway Cafe. The cafe remained open until Friederich past on in 1956. Ruth and Raymond had three children: Raymond Jr., Michael Robert and Debbie Marie.

    RUTH SCHIER FUCHS
    Ruth Schier Fuchs, 76, devoted wife, Mom, grandma and friend to many, passed from her earthly life on Monday, June 16, 1997.
    She was a lifetime resident of the Thrall area and was born near Hare, Texas. She was married to Raymond J. Fuchs of Thrall for 45 years having been joined in holy matrimony December 24, 1942. She was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church of Thrall and a member of the Ladies Axillary Fire Department. Following World War II, she and her husband, Raymond, farmed in the Thrall area. From 1956to 1978 they owned and operated the HiWay Cafe in Thrall, where they developed many lifetime friendships. After leaving the cafe, she was one of the top rated Avon representatives for 18 years.
    Her laughter, love and enthusiasm for life will be missed by the following family who loved and adored her: husband, Raymond Fuchs; daughter, Debbie Fuchs of San Leon; sons, Mike Fuchs and wife, Cathye, of Round Rock and Raymond Fuchs Jr. and wife, Charlotte of Lake Jackson; sister, Mae Teggeman and husband, Erwin, of Taylor; and grandchildren, Jason Fuchs and wife, Cindy, of Lake Jackson, Chris Fuchs of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Abbi Fuchs of Round Rock.
    Prayer service will be Wednesday, 7:00 p.m. at Condra Memorial Chapel with visitation following. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 19, 1997 at St. John Lutheran Church in Thrall with Reverend Robert Sauer officiating. Interment will follow in Taylor City Cemetery.
