Ruth E. (Grant) Hartzell, age 88, of Alliance died at 11:10 p.m. Friday, June 1, 2012, at Aultman Hospital.
She was born June 2, 1923, in Alliance, the daughter of the late Lew and Jennie Grant, and was a lifetime resident of Alliance.
Ruth, a 1941 graduate of Louisville High School, was a seamstress, homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church of Canton.
Survivors include her husband, Calvin W. Hartzell, of 69 years, whom she married January 1, 1943; daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Roger Green; six grandsons and granddaughters-in-law; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her son, Delbert, in 1982; three brothers and a sister and their spouses, Floyd, Eldon and Leonard Grant and Cleo Brugger.
Private services will be held Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Interment will be at Sunset Hills Burial Park in Canton.
