  2.   Source:Crane, Ellery B. Historic Homes and Institutions and Genealogical and Personal Memoirs of Worcester County, Massachusetts, p. 1:228, describes the wife of John Wesson as "Ruth Death, of Sherborn, ... born April 20, 1711, daughter of Henry and Rachel (Leland) Death". The problem with this is that no Ruth Death is recorded as being born on that date, and Henry and Rachel did not marry until 9 Mar 1735/36. So presumably he means the Ruth born 20 Apr 1721 d/o John Death and Waitstill Vose, as proved by John Death's will dated 30 Mar 1753 naming "Daughter Ruth wife of John Weston" (Middlesex Probate 6160). It is easy to assume that Crane misread the birth year. It is harder to explain the erroneous parents he gave.
