Obituary - Howard RUSSELL VICE DIES FRIDAY; HOWARD BURIAL Howard--Russell J. Vice, 68, Died Friday in the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Wichita. He was a former resident of Howard. He was born Oct. 21, 1895 in Sherberne, Ky. He moved to Howard in his childhood and lived here for a number of years until he moved to Wichita. He retired after 28 years as a plumber at the VA hospital. He was a veteran of World War I, a member of the Carter-Rader Post of the American Legion in Howard, and past Chef de Guerre of the 40 and 8, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars at Wichita. In 1918, he was married to Miss Olive Anderson at Howard. He is survived by his widow of the home; four sons, Charles S. Vice, Owatonna, Minn; Herbert E. Vice, Mountain Home, Idaho; Donald C. Vice and Clifford T. Vice, both of Wichita. He is also survived by two daughters, Miss Mildred J. Vice, Kansas City, MO and Mrs. Frances M. Graham, Kansas City, one sister, Mrs. Mittie Davis, Olathe and fifteen grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the DeVorss-Gard mortuary in Wichita. Graveside services will be at the Grace Lawn Cemetery in Howard at 1 p.m. Carter Rader Post will be in charge of the services.
