LAKE WORTH, Fla. - Russell Glen Tomlinson, 83, formerly of Indianapolis, died Tuesday. Private services are pending. There will be no calling. Wilson-St. Pierre Funeral Home is handling arrangements. He was a chief petty office in the U.S. Navy. Survivor - wife Esther Short Sweeney Tomlinson.

TOMLINSON
Russell Glen Tomlinson, age 83, of Lake Worth, FL, passed away at home Tuesday, husband of Esther Tomlinson of Lake Worth, FL, uncle of Mildred Wall, Helen Marsh, Florence Fowler, Marry Atchison and Ruth Green, all of Indpls, and one nephew preceded in death, Howard R. Bailey.

The story behind the marker in Memorial Park Cemetery:
After his death, Russell was cremated. His ashes were delivered to his nieces in Indianapolis: Mildred Wall, Helen Marsh, Mary Atchison, Florence Fowler, and Ruth Green. Not knowing that he already had a plot in the Oak Hill Cemetery, they saved money until they could afford a small marker and plot. The nieces held a small ceremony for him and buried his ashes.
