Death came to Russell Lowman at 6:30 p. m. Friday, March 24, at the Clinton County hospital, Frankfort, from complications following surgery. He had been ill since March 13. Mr. Lowman, who was 61, was a farmer and lived on the Lowman farm north of Mulberry.
He was born near Mulberry, October 13, 1899, a son of Wilbert E. and Laura (Slipher) Lowman. On October 6, 1928, he and Etta Laughner were united in marriage.
Survivors are the widow; a son, James, at home; a daughter, Mrs. Beatrice Noble of Lincoln, Neb.; four grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Laura Lowman of Mulberry; five sisters, Mrs. Mildred Butterfield of Middletown, Ohio, Mrs. Ruth Miller of Webster Grove, Mo., Mrs. Dorothy Summerville of Jamestown, Ind., Mrs. Fern Harshman of Chinook, Mont., and Mrs. LaGreta Reely of Missoula, Mont., and four brothers, Bruce A. of Columbus, Ohio, J. C. of Worthington, Ohio, Donald of Lafayette and Eugene of West Lafayette.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Johnson Funeral Home, with the Rev. William M. McClintock officiating. Burial was in the Fair Haven cemetery.
