    1780 - 1864

  3. Rufus is called of Royalston at the time of his marriage. There appear to be three Kenney families in Royalston: Moses, Isaac, and William. Moses writes a will (that is disallowed) naming wife Elizabeth, oldest son Moses, youngest son Enoch, 3 daughters Molly, Bettey & Jenney, 2nd son Aaron and brother Isaac [Worcester Probate 34810]. Isaac's probate specified nine children, and receipts show those nine are the wife of Simon Greenwood [Rebecca], Isaac, James, Ruth, Beulah, Rhoda, Hosea, Moses, and Anna wife of Jonathan Tomson [Worcester Probate 34792]. William apparently m. Sutton 1780 Mary Snow, and the only recorded child is a daughter Lucinda born Royalston 1791, no probate located. Source:Robertson, Florance Alice Loveless Keeney. Genealogy of Henry and Ann Kinne : Pioneers of Salem, Massachusetts, p. 142, lists 3 children: Lucinda, William, and Mary. Son William settled in Bethlehem, NH, where many of Rufus' children were born, and the father d. Stowe, VT, in 1819, where Rufus ended up. So he seems a good possibility, but no evidence has been found.
