BIOGRAPHY: Notes from Mrs. W.J. Sandlin, 1957 She states that both sets of her grandparents, her parents, and all of her Dad's family are deceased. Her grandfather was Rufus Petty Aday, who resided in Morgan County, Alabama, and who married a Jane Russell who had been married and whose maiden name may have been Drake. Her father was James Rufus Aday, who had two brothers, John and Minor L. Aday, three sisters, Sue, Betty, and Pichota Aday, and one half-sister, Maggie Russell. James died 28 years ago, which would make it about 1929.. He married Willie Mae McMillan of Moulton, Alabama, and she died on Christmas Eve, December 24, 1945. Mrs. Sandlin was born Mildred Irene Aday, Dec. 4, 1905. She and her husband W. J. Sandlin have one son, Truman, graduating from the Decatur, Alabama, Hight School in 1958. Mr. Sandlin in 1957 had been with the Hill Chain Stores for 22 years.
