Rudolph Bollinger is thought to have come to this country from Switzerland circa 1720. After the death of his first wife, Elisabeth, Rudolph married Catherine Blum, widow of Ludwig Blum who died in 1751. Catherine is the mother of Abraham Bollinger (1756-1814). Rudolph's other children were born to his first wife, Elisabeth.
