2 May 1836: Complaint of selectmen that by excessive drinking Roswell Field of Northfield wastes and lessens his estate to expose himself & his family to want & suffering and request a guardian be appointed.
23 Aug 1836: Bond of Asahel Sawyer of Northfield [with George Field and Simeon A. Field as sureties] as guardian of Roswell Field of Northfield spendthrift.
5 Nov 1839: Asahel Field being about to removed from Commonwealth requests discharge and court appoints Ezekiel Wood of Northfield as new guardian.
