    Ross F. Jeffrey, 89, Topeka, died Wednesday, June 28, 1989, at a Topeka retirement home. He had been ill.
    Mr. Jeffrey was a partner in the R&B Aircraft Co., at Billard Airport, repairing and servicing airplanes. He retired in 1975. He previously owned and operated a service station in the Oakland area after 1945. He had farmed in his early years, then after 1936 worked for Chicago Bridge and Iron Co., building water towers and large oil storage tanks. He traveled in 38 states.
    He was born May 26, 1900, at Richland, the son of John W. and Minnie Ready Jeffrey.
    Mr. Jeffrey was a member of the Oakland Independent Order of Odd Fellows lodge.
    He married Helen Marie Howard in 1918 in Topeka. She died in 1957. He later married Neta M. Dilatush May 2, 1959 in Topeka. She survives.
    Other survivors include a son, Claude H. Jeffrey, Topeka; a grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.
    Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Tibbitts-Griffin Funeral Chapel, 29th and Tecumseh Road. Burial will be in Richland Cemetery south of Richland. Mr. Jeffrey will lie in state until service time at the chapel where family and friends will meet from 7 until 8 p.m. today.
