  The family moved to Norton, Kansas where Rose met and married James Patrick Geraghty. They were married April 10, 1910 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Norton, Kansas. 
         On the 1910 Federal Census James and Rose are living in Emmitt Township, Norton County, Kansas next to his parents.

    In 1917 the family moved to Selden, Kansas where the family owned a hotel. Rose's husband, James worked for the railroad and Rose ran the hotel. According to Rose and her son, Merrill she ran a tight ship. She expected  things to be done perfect the first time. She had to be able to bounce a coin on the bed. 
    In the 1930 Federal Census Rose, James and family are living in Selden, Sheridan County, Kansas.

    Rose and James moved to Fairbury, Nebraska in 1939 where James was transferred to. When James retired in 1955 they moved to Manhattan, Kansas. Rose was widowed in 1969. She lived out her life in the family home on Humboldt St. She rented out the top floor to students from Kansas State. Her son Bernard lived a couple of blocks away. She was very active until her death in 1984. She enjoyed ceramics and playing cards. Rose was a devout Irish Catholic.
