Rosa Maxine Young, 73, of Caruthersville, died Monday, May 8, 2000 at her home.
She was born June 5, 1926, in Steele, the daughter of the late James E. Young and Nancy Arianna Thompson Young.
On October 19, 1945, in Hayti, she was united in marriage to Mr. Harold J. "Bo" Young. He preceded her in death on July 20, 1982.
She attended Steele Schools and was a member of the Moonlight Garden Club of Hayti, as well as various organizations. She also was a member of the Central Church of Christ.
Painting was one of her favorite hobbies.
Survivors include two sons, Johnny Young and Rick Young, both of Caruthersville; one daughter, Paula Chaffin and her husband, William Michael Chaffin of Clarksdale, MS,; five grandchildren, Michael Gray Young of Caruthersville, Katherine Chaffin Smith and Courtney Deweese Chaffin, both of Clarksdale, MS, Ann Alise Young Hayden of Oxford, MS and Laura Elizabeth Young of Caruthersville; two brothers, James Ralph Young and Eugene Young, both of Steele; four sisters, Lucille Smith and Keiffer Reider, both of Steele; Grace Watkins of Nevada, MO and Erma Gay Zebyzick of Fairfield, CA; a number of other relatives and many friends.
Graveside services were held on Tuesday, May 9, 2000, 11:30 AM at the Pemiscot Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Bob Miller officiating.
