Ronald C Schubach Feb. 21, 1920 -- 2004 ------ Ronald C Schubach, 84, of 5782 N OH 778, Green Springs, died Sunday at t he OH Veterans Home in Sandusky. He was born in Green Springs to the now-deceased George Nicholas and Lott ie Anna (Weiker) Schubach. His wife, Ava May (Erb) Schubach, to whom he ma rried June 7, 1941, in Tiffin, survives. Other survivors include children Wynnfield J (Linda) Schubach of Green Spr ings, Cynthia L Schubach of Centerville, Rodger D Schubach of Green Spring s, James C (Terry) Schubach of Escondido, Calif., Thomas G (Karen) Schuba ch of Clyde and Sylvia M Schubach of Green Springs; and 13 grandchildren a nd seven great-grandchildren. His twin brother, Donald Schubach, and siste r, Alyce C (Houk) Schrader, are deceased. Mr. Schubach, a 1938 graduate of Green Springs High School, was a lifeti me farmer and electrician. He also worked as a Super Cross Seed deale r, at Clyde Enamel and at Basic Refractories where he was also an electric ian. A veteran of the U.S Marine Corps Eastern Pacific theater during World W ar II, he received the Occupation of China Award. He also completed an ele ctrical engineering course during his enlistment in the Marines. He was a member of Green Springs United Methodist Church, past member of S t. Jacob's Cemetery Board of Trustees for 56 years, 35-year member of t he Green Springs Community Band where he played sousaphone, 60-year memb er of the Grand Lodge F&AM Masons 427, Green Springs, Icedore Chapter 29 9, Order of the Eastern Star, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of To ledo, PFC Russell Mook Det. Marine Corps League, Fremont, Military Ord er of Devil Dogs, Marine Corps League, lifemember of the Rodger W Young Po st 6067 VFW, Green Springs, where he was a charter member. He was also past commander of VFW and member of Dads of Foreign Service Ve terans, Otto Newton Last Man's Club, VFW, Green Springs, lifemember of Mar ion H Peck American Legion Post 295, Green Springs, and past command er of American Legion 40 Et 8 Voiture 1057 for 35 years. He was a memb er of Zenobia Temple, AAONMS, Shriners Toledo, Zenobia Tiffin Hornets, Zen obia Shrine Club, Tiffin, Aerie 2291, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Clyde, Bu ckeye State Sheriff's Association for 30 years, National Geographic Socie ty for 63 years, Democratic National Committee, State Committee, Sene ca CO Committee for 50 years, National Association of the Order of the Tur tles, lifemember of Blind Veterans Association and was an avid fisherma n, member and supporter of the Seneca CO Humane Society. Services: 10 a.m. Friday at Engle-Young Funeral Home, Green Springs. Burial: St. Jacob's Cemetery. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials: To the family. |
