Facts and Events
[edit] About Ronald KlementRonald James Klement was born 30 December 1935 in Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, son of Frank Klement (b. abt. 1890), sausage maker who immigrated from Czechoslovakia and his wife Agnes (b. abt. 1893), a native of Wisconsin. In 1956, Ronald and his brother George purchased Badger Sausage Company in 1956 and in the following year re-named in "Klement's Badger Sausage Company". Three years later, they dropped the Badger portion of the company name, and re-named it to Klement's Sausage Company. Ronald was in charge of the company's sales and marketing while brother George handled production and shipping. A third brother, Jack, joined the company in 1963.Ronald Klement helped to promote his family's products at many food industry trade events and was supportive of many food industry organizations including (but not limited to) the International Dairy/Deli/Bakery Association (IDDBA) and the Southern California Dairy/Deli/Bakery Association (DDBC). Klement served as president of the IDDBA in 1986, and was recognized for his on-going support of that organization in 1993, when he was awarded its "IDDBA Hall of Fame Award". Klement's Sausage Company would grow over the years from a small family enterprise into a major sausage producer and its sausage products would be carried in many supermarkets across the country. Klement's would go on to celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2006. Ronald Klement passed away on 31 July 1994 in Mukwonago, Waukesha County, Wisconsin at the young age of 58 of cancer. He was survived by his wife Edith, two sons and daughters, two sisters and two brothers. Image Gallery
