Roland served as Deputy Sherrif and City Police Officer in Olive Hill, Ky. as well as a watchman at General Refractories. Roland was the son of Benjamin F. Burchett, III and Martha Ellen Bond. Roland married Feb. 4, 1912 in Carter Co., Ky. to Bessie Crawford, b. Oct. 29, 1890, d. Apr. 30, 1974 in Morehead, Ky., the daughter of Hamlin "Ham" Crawford and Mollie Hargett.
