Will of Roger Williams, 26 Feb 1675; proved 6 Jun 1677, [Old] Rappahannock Co.:

To my two sons Roger Williams and Shadrack Williams I doe give 225 acres of land apiece which is 450 acres between them.

To wife Joane Williams I doe give the Plantation with 200 acres of land at the Plantation I say wherein she is at this present living.

To eldest daughter Betty Williams one heifer marked in the right ear & a crop & two slits on the left & a nick underneath.

All the rest of my cattle to my wife with the before-mentioned plantation & lands.

(Possible nephew of Roger Williams of Rhode Island) bought land in Rappahannock (now Richmond) co. VA 1664. He died 1677 Richmond Co. leaving wide Joan and two daugthers

Roger Williams, born 15 dec 1625, died 6 Jan 1677. He married Joan Frith, daughter of Nathaniel and Elizabeth Frith. She was born about 1650 and died 2 Feb, 1703, in Rappahannock County, VA.

4th Generation Shadrack Williams, born 1673 and died 1 Feb 1709. He married Elizabeth Walker. 5th Generation Roger Williams, born 1700, died 1767. He married Ann Williams (see: Williams Line Number 2). For Roger's will and descendants, see "Combined Williams Families".

One question, who is Samuel Williams? Luke is 28 years old, not old enough to have a son old enough to sign the will. John would have been 37. He not old enough to have had a son old enough to sign.

I have no deeds in Richmond Co., VA for Henry. I have never seen HUKEY on any Richmond records of any type. Many, many times deeds were NEVER recorded at the Courthouse....and if so, were recorded many years after the fact of the sale etc. Getting to the courthouse was not so easy at that time for many people. In addition, they had to pay a fee for registration and those "Scotch-Irishmen" were not ABOUT to pay such fee. Deeds of Gift are a very valuable genealogical resource. I have been able to trace a family group for 2-3 generations utilizing only deed information.
