Gazette, The (Cedar Rapids-Iowa City, IA) - July 23, 2002 Roger F. Kadlec, 63, of McGregor, died Monday, July 22, 2002, in Memorial Hospital, Prairie du Chien, Wis., following a long illness. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Thornburg-Hanson Funeral Home, McGregor, where friends may call after 10 a.m. Wednesday. Burial: Giard Cemetery, rural McGregor. He is survived by two sons, Robin (Sonia) Kadlec of New Port Richey, Fla., and Rick (Sonja) Kadlec of Lutz, Fla.; three sisters, Bonnie (Lyle) Troester of McGregor, Reva (Robert) Smock of Decorah and Deva Randall of McGregor; his mother, DeElla Kadlec of McGregor; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was born Dec. 3, 1938, in McGregor, Iowa, to Fredrick and DeElla (Welch) Kadlec. He graduated from McGregor High School. He worked as a parts man in automotive supply and had been living in Denver, Colo., for the past 27 years. He had recently moved back to McGregor. He was preceded in death by his father; son, Russ; daughter, Jill; special friend, Terry Paulson; and two brothers, Darrell Dean and Russell Kadlec. Image Gallery
