!BIRTH-MARRIAGE-CHILDREN-RESIDENCES: Arsenault, Histoire et Genealogie, p. 481 (Port Royal), born in 1650, name spelled KUESSEY, under entry with variants of CAISSY and QUESSY. Of Irish origin, he arrived at Port Royal around 1665 and settled in Beaubassin. On p. 886 (Beaubassin), name spelled KUESSEY, born in 1651, married around 1668. First child born 1669. He lived at La Butte-a-Roger [named after him?], near Beause'jour. A footnote says he was a young Irish refugee who arrived at Port Royal around 1665. Several of his descendants, especially in Louisiana, took the name ROGER.

In the judicial files at the Parliament of Quebec is a document from 1685: "Testimony of Roger KESSY of Irish nationality, at present living at Beaubassin, aged 35 years or thereabouts."
