"Roger (Betts), Milford, 1658, had then gr. of ld. but had been of New Haven 1644, where he took o. of fidel. and of Branford 1646, and d. 31 Aug. 1658. By w. Ann, he had Samuel, Peter, and Mercy all carr. from Branford to New Haven for bapt. 1 June 1651, of wh. Peter d. in tw. yrs. beside Hannah, prob. eldest of all; Roger, b. 20 Feb. 1652; and Mary. The wid. m. John Cabell of Fairfield, and d. 1683, giv. all her prop. to s. Samuel, with order to pay legacies to the other ch. without nam. them."
