left home when 16 to go to Baltimore, Md.; or South America; went to Green Bay country winter 1832, was seen in Cincinnati, 0H, never heard from.

Evidently named for the protagonist of the picaresque novel "The Adventures of Roderick Random" by Tobias Smollett, 1748. Smollett translated Don Quixote and Gil Blas.

In the novel, the Roderick Random character is the son of an English gentleman and a lower class woman.
