  1. The birth order in Roby's family is unclear. Roby is the eldest sister of the eldest son James, but it is unknown if she is older or not, or possibly even younger than the other sons? It is presumed she is the second child, but this is complete speculation. See the comments on marriage.
  2. There are two marriages for a Roby/Robe Horton of Rehoboth: in 1764 to Joseph Ingalls Jr. and in 1766 to Sylvanus Campbell. Source:Beckwith, Albert Clayton. History of Walworth County, Wisconsin, p. 1414, covering a son, Jacob Ingalls, says his mother was Roby Norton. A birth for neither Roby Horton or Roby Norton can be found, and obviously Norton contradicts the published records, it opens the possibility that the one marriage is a misread of the records, leaving Sylvanus Campbell as the presumptive husband. This is also what is given in ppSource:Jenks, Margaret R. Thomas Horton of Milton and Rehoboth, Massachusetts]], p. 34. However, no evidence that this is actually correct has been found. A "Rode Campbell", over 45, is living in Rehoboth in the 1800 census. Also in Rehoboth (3 pages later) is Sylvenus Campbell, age 25-45, so probably a son, suggesting this is Sylvanus' widow.
