Obituary - Topeka Capitol Journal, February 27, 2003 Roberta Schlichter The Order for the Burial of the Dead and Holy communion will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Lutheran Church for Roberta Pearl Schlichter, 97, formerly of Topeka. She died Saturday, February 22, 2003, at a Punta Gorda, Fla., care center. Mrs. Schlichter had been employed by Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center for many years. She was born Feb. 10, 1906, in Frankfort, to Abram and Grace Cummings. She attended The University of Kansas. She moved to Florida in December 2000. She married Duane L. Schlichter, who died in 1990. Survivors include a son, the Rev. Robert E. Schlichter, Punta Gorda; a daughter, Imogene Brunnert, Kansas City, Mo., seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great grandchildren. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Schlichter will lie in state during visitation from 1 p.m. to service time Friday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to First Lutheran Church, 1234 S.W. Fairlawn Ave., Topeka, 66604. Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel is in charge of Topeka arrangements.
