    Hi Sharon,

I don't have the names of Robert WILKINS parents, but because I live in Lancaster Co., PA, and was a research assistant at the Lancaster County, Historical Society, I have collected a little information on the family. My information is from the Lancaster County Historical Society vertical file folders and published county histories, accounts and administrations which I gathered at least 10-12 years ago. I had only taken notes on what I found and did not follow up any of these citations because, as far as I know, this
is not my WILKINS line. However, if you would like me to check something out for you, I will. In my notes, I did cite where I found various bits of information.

Looking at my PA WILKINS file, I have the same dates as you have but for different people. I believe I came to the conclusion that there were 2 early Roberts [probably father/son immigrants] because I had 2 different set of dates. But I have no idea if this is a correct conclusion. If someone else can straighten me out on this for future reference, I hope to hear from you.

    I have the following.

Robert WILKINS arrived from Brecknock or Brecken, Morgan Co., Wales in America in 1672 and in Donegal Twp., then Chester Co., PA in 1694. Married Elizabeth ROSS in 1702/1703. Died 1729 in Donegal Twp. Lancaster Co. PA, may be buried at Donegal Presbyterian Church [I'd have to check.] There's an Administrative bond/ inventory for Robert, 1765, Donegal Twp. Lancaster Co, PA.

Robert Wilkins, an Indian trader, first settled along the Conestoga Creek on land adjoining Richard Carter's. In 1718 he took up 200 A of land along the Susquehanna R. which he sold in 1727 to Rev. James Anderson. Robert's son, Thomas took up 150 A. on the north side of Robert Wilkins' tract in 1718. He sold this land and moved back to settle near Donegal Church and died in 1746 leaving his children: Andrew, John, Mary and Elizabeth. Robert's son's, Peter, will dated Sept. 1748 says his father, Robert, is
    still living.

I didn't see the next one on your list. She would have been born to a younger Robert, not listed on your list of children of Robert. She would have been born when your Robert's sons were dieing, but before your Robert's death. [Confusing enough?]

"Elizabeth, daughter of Robert Wilkins was born in Donegal Twp. Lancaster Co. Pa, July 7, 1749. Her parents were early settlers and prominent person in that hive of Scotch-Irish pioneers. etc." She married John Allison in 1763 who was born 1738 and whose father was in Donegal Twp. 1730. Anyway, I have lots more on these folks. If you or anyone else is interested in someone specific let me know. I'll also stop at the LCHS to verify a
document or citation since it was years ago that I copied this information.

Robert Wilkins, the emigrant ancestor, who emigrated from Bradenoch, Wales, where his family had been seated since the conquest of that country by Edward III, of England. He was descended from Robert de Wintonia, which modernized is Robert of Winchester, and his son John, first bore the name of Wilcolyne or Wilkyn. Early in the eighteenth century, the Welsh family resumed by legal process the name of their ancestor deWinton. The arms of the Wilkins family are thus emblazoned : per pale or and argent, a wyvern vert. Crest: a wyvem proper; mottoes; Estote prudents, and
Syn ar dy Hun. Of Robert the emigrant.
