From Murphysboro Funeral home...no name to newspaper... Died 4:00 p.m. 9 May 1985 Robert C. Waldron Robert C. Waldron, 87 of 1523 Oak Street, Murphysboro, died Thursday, May 9, 1985, in St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro. Mr. Waldron was a vocational and industrial arts teacher at Murphysboro High School from 1941 to 1961. He recieved his A. A. degree in 1932 from Baptist College in Bolivar, Missouri; a Bachelor's degree in 1935 from Southwest State Teacher's College in Springfield, Missouri; and a master's degree from the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Murphysboro, where he taught the Agoga Sunday School class for 25 years, He was born August 30, 1897 in Rochester, Minnesota to Robert W. and Louella Waldron. He was first married to Nell Frances Pope January 9, 1929, in Bolivar, Missouri. She died April 14, 1974. He then married Velma Luck February 21, 1976 in Murphysboro. She survives. Other survivors include one son Robert C. Waldron Jr. of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; one grandson. one great grandson, and one sister Estella Lipking of Sylmare, California. He was preceded on death by one grandson, one brother and one sister. Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Pettett Funeral Home in Murphysboro. Entombment will be in the Murdale Gardens of Memory in Murphysboro. Friends may call from 6 p.m. today until the hour of the services Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to either the First Baptist Church in Murphysboro or to the American Heart Association. References
