Robert Edison Turpening, age 86, of Albon Rd. formerly of Frampton Dr, pas sed away November 8, 2002, in the Elizabeth Scott Care Center. Mr. Turpeni ng was a meat cutter for many years working along side his father who own ed the former Turpening Supermarket in Swanton OH. Robert was a memb er of St. Petri Lutheran Church and American Legion Post #384 of Whitehous e OH. He served in World War II receiving 2 purple hearts and participat ed in the Battle of the Bulge Mr. Turpening was preceded in death by his wife, Luella M (Schultz) Turpen ing in 1983; daughter, Shirley Turpening and stepson, Marion Schultz. Surv iving are son, Robert (Martha) Turpening, Whitehouse OH; stepdaughter, Do ris (Bill) Hattendorf of Findlay OH, stepdaughter-in-law, Jean Schultz; a lso surviving are 9 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home, 34 53 Heatherdowns Blvd. at Byrne Rd. Thursday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. where Fu neral Services will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. Interment Bradner Cemeter y. The family suggests memorials to Juvenile Diabetes in memory of daughte r, Shirley Turpening.
