Information from L. Hooper. Robert was a son of Rev. Robert Stanser and Sarah Leeson. Robert studied at St. John's College, Cambridge and was curate at Bulliwell, Nottinghamshire, England, 1783-1791. He was rector in Nova Scotia, Canada, 1791-1816 and bishop at Halifax, Nova Scotia, 1816-1824.
