17 FROM PA. KILLED IN VN
WASHINGTON (AP) - The Pentagon identified Monday 14 more Pennsylvanians killed in action in the fighting in Vietnam, and another whose death was not attributed to hostile action.
Eight of those killed in action were Marines. Six were Army men.
The Army men included Sgt. Charles G. Warsing, son of Mrs. Elizabeth G. Warsing, Saxton; Cpl. Larry L. York, son of Mrs. Myrtle D. York, Trumbauersville; Pfc. Robert M Sopko son of Mr and Mrs Michael J. Sopko, Bethlehem; Pfc. Herbert D. Snell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph D. Snell, New Milford; Pfc. John H. Anderson, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Anderson, Sr., Kralltown; and Pfc. Bernard F. Yarbinitz, son of Mr. Michael J. Yarbinitz, Johnstown.
The Marines killed in action were Cpl. Gerald D. Conley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles D. Conley, Pittsburgh; Cpl. John W. Rouse, son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin P. Rouse, Pittsburgh; Cpl. William Wilbur, Jr., son of Mrs. Hazel Wilbur, Moosic; Lance Cpl. William A. Grist, son of Mrs. Ruth Grist, New Castle; Lance Cpl. Stanley F. Poniktera, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley F. Poniktera, Hellertown; Lance Cpl. Marck C. Rokaski, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rokaski, Philadelphia; and Pfc. Frederick F. Ray, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick F. Ray, Trainer.
Listed as killed in Vietnam, but not killed in action, was Army Spec. 4 John C. Carney, son of Mr. and Mrs. Newell C. Carney, Johnstown.
