    Marguerite Shores Brewington

    SALISBURY -- Marguerite Shores Brewington, 92, of Salisbury, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Feb. 2, 2004, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center.
    Born in Deal Island, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Lucy Kelley Shores. Her husband, E. Franklin Brewington, preceded her in death in 1991.
    Mrs. Brewington was a member of Calvary Baptist Tabernacle. She was a member of the Alumni of Maryland State Normal School, graduating in 1930. She was a school teacher for many years in Somerset County and Wicomico County and was one of the first teachers on Smith Island. She loved children and they loved her in return. She was a good teacher who loved her students. She will be missed by her family and friends. She loved God's word and loved to read and study it.
    She is survived by two children, Irvin F. Brewington and Nancy J. Barbely and her husband, Wayne; three grandchildren, Irvin Douglas, Marcia Robin Brewington and Troy Barbely, all of Salisbury; nieces, Janet Dise and Gail Simpkins; nephew, Robert Lee Shores III; several other nieces and ne-phews; two lifelong friends of Shad Point, Olive Fields and neighbor Rebecca Bennett; and another special friend, Dee Klempner.
    She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Lee Shores Jr. and James Kenny Shores.
    A funeral service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Tabernacle. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at Holloway Funeral Home and Thursday one hour prior to the service at the church. The Rev. Lou Bradley will officiate. Interment will be in Shad Point Cemetery.
    In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Tabernacle, 337 Tilghman Road, Salisbury, Md. 21801; or the Washington United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund.
