Robert F. Shoop Sr. Post Date: 6/26/2004 LEWISTOWN — Robert F. Shoop Sr., 80, of 512 S. Grand St., Lewistown, died at 7:35 a.m. Thursday, June 24, 2004, at his residence. Born Sept. 23, 1923, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Harry “H.P” and Mary E. (Bingman) Shoop. His wife, Leone H. (Havens) Shoop, preceded him in death on April 29, 1992. Surviving are: children Robert F. Shoop Jr., Maitland, Mrs. Richard (Mary) Klingensmith, Reedsville, Barbara Ann Lennartz, Lewistown and David A. Shoop, McClure; a brother, Richard E. Shoop, Beaver Springs; a step-sister Delores Britt, Lewistown; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He owned and operated Shoop’s TV for 50 years, retiring in 1997. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, VFW Post 7011, American Legion and Brooklyn Hose Company. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Richard Noll and Rev. Karen McCachren officiating. Interment will be in Lind Memorial Cemetery. Graveside military services will be conducted by VFW Post 7011. There will be no viewing, however, family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: First United Methodist Church, 200 E. Third St., Lewistown, PA 17044 or Hospice: The Bridge, 400 Highland Ave., 2nd Floor, Lewistown, PA 17044. Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown, is in charge of the arrangements. |
